Wednesday Night Curry (Thursday) 21 January 2010

Attendees - Andrew and Amy Collier, Olly Cooper, Sara Dunlop and the Mrs.

Menu - Chicken Curry, Peas and Potatoes, Courgettes a la moi, Raita, Mooil sald and roomali roti (sort of)

So. The first WNC of the year was actually on a Thursday. Did we care, Did it offend...NO. Even if we did or it had sod you.

Lovely, lovely people, lovely chat.

The new Home of Curry (tm) is a tad smaller and we only have 6 chairs so WNC is shrinking. I may have to get people to bring chairs.

I was running late this week and so no pudding. I think everyone was ok tho as I made more than enough. We got to use the coffee machine that the Mrs and I got for a wedding pressie...brrrhcchh brrrccchhh a la red mountain ads years ago remember? No Shame on you.

There was no traditional WNC you tube session or any really dirty jokes or very random chat...maybe we are all growing up.

Love you all like chicken xxx

#WNCNDSGDP - Year 4.

Well. What Can I say. The year has been quiet in Curry terms. How did we make up for that - WNCNDSGDP - that is how.

Last night was great fun. Lots of teh WNC gang were there. PLH came (it would not be the same without him), Giler and Dot (soon to be hitched! yay!)The recently Hitched AC sans Mrs C and many many more.

There was much in the way of spicy nibbles. My younger brother turned up and had brought with him MANY more unexpected meat based treats, so we all had more than we had bargained for.

There are plans afoot in Curry towers. Things are gonna change next rules and things. You know mix it up a little. live on the edge.

So I bid you all a Non Denominational Seasonal Greeting and until the year is new and the birds a tweeting a different tune - may you all be spicy.

love you

That is correct ou read it here forst folks. WNC has been going for 4 years.

Ok so admitedly this year has been sparsely littered with curry, but you know I had to do the wedding and honeymoon thing and new businsess thing...all that kind of stuff.

Anyhoo. You should have all had the e-mail about The Wednesday Night Curry Non-Denominational Seasonal Greetings Drinks Party on the 17th. I know it is a Thursday but you can't have it all.

see you there my spicy little samosas.

Ok so I know that it has been longer than long.

As you know there are reasons, valid nuptial type reasons.

WNC will be back, it will be back and PLH has been replaced.

For anyone interested you can also find me here.

soon people. soon.

So the day finally came. The walls came a tumbling down...the Home of Curry is no more. Well when I say no more I mean that PLH is selling it not that the council had condemned it or anything like that.

It was a joyous occasion of spicy nibbles and many old curry friends sharing their sadness about the south east london curry mecca that has become a friend to me over the past few years.

Not to worry WNC is not is just moving. It will become a moveable feast (if you will)!! We shall be permanently on tour or maybe even have a semi-permanent residence in Pimlico the new home of the Currymaster.

Before I leave you today may I just send a silent salute out to the PLH - the Captain of Curry and the Deputy Minister of Coriander. He persevered through the yoghurt curries "it can't be a curry because it's got no meat", he learnt about spices "bugger me that's hot" and he kindly allowed WNC to reside at his home for many a year. We thank you.

I shall be setting up a new format for WNC now that we are homeless (maybe a magazine called THE BIG CURRY??) so keep your inboxes open and ready for spicy curry news.

This is not the end my spicy little samosas it is just a new beginning.

Love you

Wednesday Night Curry 16th April 2009

Attendees - Giler and Dorothy, Richard Matthews, Emilia Keladitis, Vanessa Lindsay,Kat Fairbairn, Charlotte Pham, PLH.

Menu - Keema (Minced Lamb), Baby Baingan (Aubergine), Spicy Courgettes, Rice and Mooli Salad, Raita..and some rather Garlic and Coriander Naan (Tesco!!)
Pudding - Melon, Chicoo and the First of the season Alphonso Mangoes.

Virgin Count - 3

Ca Va my spicy little Samosas?

WNC number 2. Done. As Gordon would say.

You will see that the Virgin count is quite high this week, ordinarily I would have been quite happy with such a saturation of Virgins in my midst, however you will also see from the attendee list that it was the LARGEST WNC of all time. 9 followers of curry were in present!

As tehre were so many of us PLH the Home of CurryTM Gatekeeper was rather worried about seating and tables and things...but it was all ok and he needn't have shed all that hair...tho admittedly it could have been due to the suggested marketing strategy for the sale of the Home of Curry...PLH - Hoist - RVT -Particulars!!

Yes you heard it right folks the Home of CurryTM is up for sale! For those who may want to purchase this landmark property you will find the details here and for a version you can carry and save with you click here if you look closely you can see where the magic happens....

Anyhoo...This week was a fun filled evening of frolicking and fascinatingly fabulous folks. Some say one of the best WNCs to date...let it be know that as Currymaster I have no favourites, everytime one of the curry creations is eaten I am a happy man.

Much like the BBC Iplayer the WNC blog is a poor curry follower's listen again...I shall attempt to give you a small insight into the WNC just past:

Ward of London...Do they know about the Curry?

Children Swearing...Chuffing Nora!

FGM...Fucking good mango - Hoist anyone!

Well there we go, a fun evening I am sure you will agree.

I think that next time we may have to go on tour and try to have a near perfect attendance curry virgins....anybody who wants to host the next WNC let me know by currymail.

Until next time, be good, love yourself with your own hands and may the curry be with you.
